In order for this to take effect, Matlab&amp;#039;s license will need a restart. This will take place on Friday, 11/13 at 10AM.  If you are using Matlab at this time you may have to reconnect.

<description>Network service has been restored to the 7th and 8th floors of the Sackler building.  The closet which houses the networking equipment reached a temperature over 100 degrees this morning which caused the network switch to overheat and fail.  A UIT technician was able to cool the room, bring the switch back up, and restore network service.

<description>Attention Cluster Users,
On Nov. 5 at  3:30pm  the Research Cluster will be unavailable for less
than 15 minutes due to Cluster IP address space changes.   All
interactive logins to the cluster head node will be disrupted during
this period.

If your job(s) make use of any sort of external network resources, you
should suspend or restart them as they may be affected.

FlexLM license service will be impacted.  Any applications which don&amp;#039;t
rely on redundant servers will likely lose connectivity to the license
servers.  For example, Mathematica, Tecplot, StarP, Portland and Intel
Compilers  will be affected.

On 10/27/09 during from 9AM to 1PM , a test cluster environment will be installed by IBM along side the current cluster. This addition is an enhancement to the cluster infrastructure. An expected short downtime is very likely. We do not anticipate any service disruption but for 10 minutes at the most to the production cluster. However, we would like you to know that service disruption for unforeseen reasons is always a possibility during installation of any new hardware.
