<description>This coming Sunday morning (July 27th), UIT will be upgrading the 3 leaf routers Anderson, Pearson and Tisch.  This will cause approxmiately a five minute downtime for all downstream devices.    The downtime will start at approximately 9:00 am; they will reboot sequentially -  about 5 minutes apart.  Core-sec will also be upgraded but this is non-service affecting and will be done at the completion of the production routers.

<description>The NetApp Filer cluster (Titan/rstore1and Quarry) will be unavailable during Thursday/Friday morning maintenance window (midnight to 2am) on 7/18/08.  

We will be installing new NIC cards in both Filers.  The Filers will be down for roughly 20-30 minutes during the installation, but we are reserving the whole maintenance window.

Access to network file shares for the following groups will be affected.

<description>LAN Systems in conjunction with the Security group and the NOC will be replacing LAN Systems Firewalls with new GB interface models in Thursday/Friday’s Midnight to 2:00am maintenance window on 7/18/2008.  Visible outage will be minimal (seconds) while we reconnect network cables and the ARP tables are flushed on the TAB router.  We anticipate that connectivity to servers will automatically be reestablished and no sessions will be lost.</description>

<description>Work will be performed on PDU1 (power distribution unit) in the TAB Data Center during the regularly scheduled maintenance window at 6:00a on 06/29/2008.  Systems with dual power supplies are attached to multiple PDUs and should experience no interruption, but the following production systems only have one power supply and will be brought down during the power work:

iggy
serpentine
cooper
wharton

As with any large scale power work, there is some small chance that other systems may unintentionally be affected.  Should this occur, the outage should be a brief as Operations works to restore power to the machine(s) in question.

<description>Due to a hardware failure of the Tufts primary border router yesterday (Wednesday) evening, the network has been running with a single network connection out to the Internet, and with no direct link to Internet 2.   The Network Engineering group has received and configured replacement equipment, and intends to bring it online this evening, at 5:30pm.   

There may be a 5-10 minute period where the university experiences no external network connectivity, while Internet routing recalculates for our additional external links.

Internal network connectivity will not be affected by this change.</description>
